A record $15,000 was raised at the Pink Ribbon Corporate Golf Day for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) hosted by Professionals Real Estate Group on Friday 26th March at the Joondalup Golf Course.
David Hobbs, CEO of Professionals, announced the final tally this week and attributed the success of the event to the support offered from a wide range of corporate entities.
“Every Australian in some way has been touched by breast cancer. Individual experience is what seems to inspire corporate groups to get involved and help find a cure, no matter what size their contribution may be.”
“The Pink Ribbon Corporate Golf Day, which is in its second year running, was sponsored by Datacom and M2 Technology. The event also attracted a diverse range of golfers from real estate, media, printing, insurance, hospitality and marketing.
“Fundraising activities such as the Pink Ribbon Corporate Challenge have already helped to put Professionals on target to raise a massive $1.5 million for the NBCF before the end of this current financial year (2009/2010).“
“Since Professionals became Diamond Partners with the NBCF in 2003/2004, the group has consistently increased its fund raising efforts for breast cancer research each year.” Last financial year, Professionals raised a record $321,668 for the NBCF and this figure has already been equalled during the first nine months of 2009/2010.
Professionals are expected to raise at least another $180,000 for the NBCF by 30 June 2010 which would mean that since 2003/2004 the group has collected more than $1.5 million to fund research into cancer research since 2003/2004. “Everyone at Professionals is committed to supporting the efforts of the NBCF. This is underlined by the highly successful fund raising efforts of our group through a cash contribution from every property sold and fundraising at events such as the Pink Ribbon Golf Day, Mothers Day Classic and Pink Ribbon Breakfast.
“Professionals will not be resting on our laurels and our next objective is to break the $2.0 million fund raising bench mark for the NBCF as soon as possible,” he said.
