Professionals Real Estate Group is taking a leading role in supporting community events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.
Former Australian soldier and CEO of Professionals, Shane Kempton said the 100th Anniversary of the Gallipoli landing should be remembered by everyone throughout Western Australia as key turning event in the history of Australia.
“This historic event helped to define our nation and freedoms we enjoy and take for granted today. It is therefore very important that everyone in our community, including corporate citizens such as Professionals, should become actively involved in events that will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing by ANZAC forces.
“By simply attending a local ANZAC Day Dawn Service, people in the community can show their support for the supreme efforts and sacrifices made by our armed service personnel at Gallipoli and all other conflicts Australia has been involved in over the past 100 years.
“To that end, Professionals will be sending out mass flyers to local communities to advise them of their nearest ANZAC Day Dawn Service.
“In addition, as part of our involvement in the 100th anniversary commemoration events, Professionals will sponsor the Centennial ‘Solider On’ breakfast on the 24th April 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
“The ‘Soldier On’ breakfast raises much needed funds and awareness for Australian servicemen and women who have been physically or psychologically wounded in service for our country.
“We encourage members of the public to attend and while they enjoy their breakfast, attendees can listening to inspiring stories from veterans as well as enjoying entertainment organised during the event.
“Professionals will also be sponsoring another “Soldier On” event on November 11th which will be a golf day fund raising event to commemorate Remembrance Day,” he said.
Shane Kempton was a member of the Australian Army from 1995 to 2000 and was posted with the Special Air Service Regiment for two years.
Since becoming CEO of Professionals Shane has re-enlisted as a Reservist in the Australian Army and now posted to the Pilbara Regiment as a Patrolman. Part of his duties are to assist in the border patrols of the Australian Coast Line and working with indigenous communities.
Shane said he was very proud of his time in the Australian Army and his current work as a Reservist.
“I am also very proud of my family’s involvement in the armed forces going back to World War 2.
“My grandfather Ernie Kempton served with the 2/16 infantry battalion during World War 2 and fought in the Middle East and along the Kokoda Track. He sadly passed away in 2011,” he said.
