How to make your bathroom shine before an open for inspection

The bathroom is generally one of the top concerns for prospective home buyers, meaning that it will be heavily scrutinized on the day of an open for inspection.
Don’t let anything get in the way of buyers seeing your bathroom in its best possible light. Take the time to clean it thoroughly from top to bottom if you want to really impress buyers and show them your bathroom from its best angles.
While the bathroom can be a tricky room to clean out, these tips should help you get it sparkling:
Shower: Wash shower curtains and liners in the washing machine and rehang them to let dry. Putting a towel in the wash with curtains can help to scrub out any marks. For shower doors, use white vinegar or commercial cleaning products to get rid of watermarks. Rinse and buff dry with a microfiber cloth.
Grout – Make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and work it into discoloured grout using a toothbrush. Bleach is another effective solution; however ensure that the room is well ventilated before using.
Tiles, sink and countertops – These often just need a simple spray and wipe down. Clean any mineral deposits around taps and handles with vinegar or commercial cleaning products. Remember to clean floor tiles last so you don’t need to mess them up again while cleaning elsewhere.
Light and ventilation fan – Remove any dust build-up and ensure that both are functioning correctly.
Towels – Don’t forget to clean towels and hand towels before an inspection. Consider buying new towels specifically for inspections and don’t use them in between so that they are always fresh and ready to be put on show.
Bring in the pros – Sometimes it’s easiest to let the professionals do the hard work for you. If you don’t have a knack for cleaning, or simply don’t have the time or inclination, then it’s worth bringing in a professional cleaner to help make your bathroom look like new again.
