As a surfer I had been a visitor to Dunsborough Yallingup and surrounding areas since the mid 70s and developed a love for the area along with a desire to make it my home. That dream was realised in 1988 when along with my larger family, we bought a local business to make it happen. That business was the then iconic Green Acres Caravan Park on the Dunsborough foreshore. At the time Dunsborough was a relatively unknown sleepy hollow, frequented by keen surfers, farming families from the greater South West and others that appreciated the natural riches of the region. As the word got out about the natural beauty, the surf, the fishing, the wineries and the wonderful lifestyle on offer, the area began to blossom. We watched as the face of the town changed, old farm land parcels in town turned in to new Estates and the people kept coming. The town was growing rapidly. My young children, of which one was born locally have been a part of this change. They have been foundation students in new schools, (that I have had the pleasure in assisting to develop) sports club participants and today are very proud well known members of our community. Like my kids I have been heavily involved with the community over the years in fields like sports clubs, politics, school fundraising, community development and various other areas. With the growing pains of our town we sold our wonderful parcel of land to make way for more growth and other opportunities such as being the owners and operators of Banamah Wildlife Park and Coconut Bar & Café. After that chapter I started my own small earthmoving business - Baker Earthmoving, running around Town and the outer areas in my bobcat and truck. This gave me a detailed look into many properties, with many people and has been a very rewarding aspect of my life. With the advent of the GFC and the down turn in local work an opportunity presented for me to use my skills overseas in PNG and the Soloman Islands. After a redundancy and returning home I was offered a position as a Sales Consultant with the Professionals. After some research and consultation I felt the national brand of the Professionals would be the right fit for me with my local knowledge, network of contacts and love of the area. I believe I have frank and honest information to impart with anybody who chooses to deal with me and look forward to helping those who require my assistance. Try the fresh approach at the Professionals; as just like many others I can help you too.
