Ray was interested in real estate when he studied the real estate market from the age of 13. With the help of his father, an engineer, Ray bought his first block of land when he was 14 with his father as guarantor. Ray worked on local farms until he left school saving every dollar and only taking Christmas day off throughout the year. At 16, Ray had paid off his $400 block and bought a half acre in Boronia for $1,600, which he also paid off in one year. By this time Ray had left school and was working three jobs in order to buy a house which he did just before his 18th birthday. Again, Ray’s father had to go guarantor on each purchase as Ray was not old enough, an amazing effort for someone so young.
After being refused many jobs in real estate Ray was finally given the opportunity to show his ability with Kevin Rundell, an estate agent who lived in Boronia. Ray immediately pursued his full license and dream. In his early years in real estate, Ray also involved himself in the building industry and established a sizeable building company and to this day, Ray still keeps in contact with many of his trades people. In 1990 both real estate market and the building sector were in dire straits when Ray decided to concentrate on the real estate side of the business and which saw significant growth and development, even in these terrible times.
Ray has been a community spokesman for many years. His view is always be straight with people as they will appreciate Ray’s honesty.

He has been President and Vice President of many groups, as well as the agency has been Real Estate Agent, and Agency, of the Year on a number of occasions. He is regularly approached by the local media on his views on various local and national real estate matters, as he will give an honest account of the market. Ray was awarded the Corporate Citizen of the Year for his dedicated community work and is the only local estate agent to have received this honour, which in itself is a tribute to his business ethics and community influence.
