Holmleigh consists of mainly red soil open forest country, black soil flats and pulled gidyea country. Timber types consist of Silver Gidyea, Iron Bark, Corkwood, Bloodwood, Beefwood, Bauhinia, Leopardwood and Boree. Grasses include Native Bluegrass, Mitchell, Flinders, Bull Mitchell, Buffel, Spinifex, Seca and Verano Stylos. Homeleigh is presently well grassed.
