Perfect open plan living.

The open concept in residential living is one that is becoming quite common and many home owners prefer this style. If you are in the midst of a renovation that is going to utilise this concept then you really want to be sure it’s done right so you can enjoy this over space to its fullest.
It serves a multi-function purpose
With your new open space it is no longer designated to just one purpose. Your open space may have to meet the needs of all of your family members. These can vary for instance the kids may need a place for homework, or entertaining, while the adults may need some home office space or room for relaxation.
When thinking about space for storage the corridors of the home should not be excluded.
Planning your space is important
What areas in your home now are duel functioning. Or what space could you turn into multi use? For example with some re-designing efforts could you turn your carport into an area that could also function for outdoor entertaining?
Look at how the various rooms are connected, and could they be joined together to make one larger open space that would serve the functions of each of the rooms?
Determine what your priorities are. Is storage space a key issue, or is open space more important. If storage is the big issue then you want more wall space for this. If space is a key concern think about ways to open up rooms so they can flow into appropriate outdoor space. For example, extending the kitchen so it flows to the outdoor patio extends its functionality.
Designers pay close attention to storage needs because it’s always one that demands a lot of attention because of the need for it in almost every dwelling.
A change in furniture choices
With the open space concept you are going to have to take a second look at your furniture. You need more streamlined furniture that works well in open space and not just butted against a well.  Again think about multi-functioning furniture that can help you to cut down on utilizing all of your open space just for the furniture itself.
These are just a few but important factors to think about when you are contemplating open space living.
