WA real estate leader inducted into Professionals’ Hall of Fame

A prominent West Australian real estate leader, Geoff Guelfi, has been inducted into Professionals’ prestigious Hall of Fame in recognition of his 30-year leadership and mentorship within the industry.

The induction ceremony took place during Professionals Real Estate International Awards and Conference held recently in Perth. Mr Guelfi, the co-founder of six successful Perth offices, has mentored dozens of young agents including several current leading principals and members of the Professionals Board.

Mr Guelfi started his career as an accountant and operated several successful local small businesses but an interest in land development in his 30s led him into real estate. In 1993, he partnered with a friend to acquire a 30 percent stake in the business which evolved into the highly successful Professionals Stirling Clark office in Forrestfield in Perth’s east.

A year later, the team opened Professionals Granger Clark in Ballajura, before expanding their footprint across Perth’s northeast with multiple offices and a commercial-only agency in Malaga. Today, Mr Guelfi is the director and shareholder of six offices that employ 76 people.

A key focus for Mr Guelfi is property management, where his accounting background supports running highly efficient operations. “I am more an accountant than a salesperson,” he said.

“I have been involved in small business all my life, with a decade in government as an exception. I enjoy business partnerships as a way to share both load and rewards.”

Mr Guelfi also served on the WA state board for Professionals for more than 14 years and was an inaugural Director of the Professionals Group Australia.

Professionals Real Estate CEO, Sean Hanneberry, said it was a privilege to welcome Mr Guelfi into the Hall of Fame. “This distinguished group represents our highest achievers, leaders who truly embody the spirit of Professionals,’’ Mr Hanneberry said.

“Geoff’s dedication, leadership, and generous mentorship have been pivotal in shaping the growth in talent across the real estate community in Western Australia and our network. He exemplifies the professionalism, integrity and community values that define our brand.”

Reflecting on the honour, Mr Guelfi said: “I don’t seek accolades, but I am proud to be recognised by Professionals. It also meant a lot to be able to celebrate this achievement with my family here in Perth.” Several family members including his son, daughter, son-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law are involved in the business.

Committed to supporting the next generation, Mr Guelfi enjoys sharing his experience and giving back to the industry. “I’m very happy to share knowledge with anyone interested and proud to support emerging professionals.”

Mr Guelfi said among his proudest achievements had been receiving multiple Professionals Office of the Year awards.

Always looking ahead, Mr Guelfi plans to open one more business before retirement.

“I love the real estate industry because it is one of the last remaining genuine small businesses that can be run independently. It’s an industry that rewards work hard.”

Under his leadership, Mr Guelfi helped establish Professionals Stirling Clark, and continues to run Professionals Granger Clark, Professionals Ellenbrook, Professionals Northern Coast, Professionals Alkimos, Professionals Lagoon and Professionals MC Commercial.
